I was very pleased with this book. It started off with a proclamation of unity and equality that forbids anyone who is not complient with its principles from reading any furthur. I agreed with it, so of course I read on. The message was explained by telling stories and anecdotes of past struggles for the godless peoples of the world. Even in a country like the USA that declares its self a secular separation of church and state society; battles have been fought to maintain that statute. It is inspiring to find out what our forbearers went through to get us to this state. And the future visions of Ray Kurzweil and Gene Roddenberry were enlightening as well.

The book continues with issues of economic pressures and environmental concerns. I especially liked the poem that bookmarks the publication. The main message of the book is that we are a community and together we can do anything. What seems impossible today; will be done eventually with unity. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to all my atheist, humanist and freethinker friends.
